Amar & Subreena

INSPIRATION

While planning for our wedding our inspiration came from things that were important to us. Amar has always had a love for peacocks so we had them incorporated into various parts of our wedding, such as our wedding cards, Amars palla and Sangeet night decor.

We both are very family oriented and always wanted a close knit wedding so we had our Sikh ceremony at Gurdwara Dasmesh Darbar in Canada and flew out our immediate family for a reception in Mexico. Amar is in the wedding industry, so I was fortunate enough to have someone with so many creative ideas flowing so it was natural for us to choose the things we both love.

SHE SAID:

The most memorable moment for me was being able to experience the best of both worlds during our wedding and marrying my best friend. We did all of our pre-events and traditional Sikh wedding in Canada. Then we flew with our amazing family and friends to Cancun, Mexico to enjoy a wedding on the beach and party the night away for our reception. We would like to thank our family for going on this journey with us and making our dreams come true.

HE SAID

The most memorable moment for me was Sufi night. Growing up my dad was a huge fan of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. At a young age I wasn’t able to appreciate his music, but as I grew older I learned to appreciate the music. The Sufi night took place the day after the wedding with all close friends and family.

TIPS & RECOMMENDATIONS

We would recommend hiring a day-of wedding coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly and it allows the bride/groom and their families to enjoy the day stress free. Putting so much time and money into planning our weddings, the last thing you want is everything to be disorganized or have our families running around the day of the wedding. We were not stressed the day of and we had the dream wedding we always wanted.
