Thought from a Bride to Be – Adore your Décor

The 2018 wedding season is here! All of the vendors are getting busy, final confirmations, story boards, couple meetings and so much more! As my date is soon approaching one of my most favorite parts of planning my wedding was the décor. It is so exciting to think of an idea that symbolizes a part of you and the groom and to see it come to life.

When my fiancé and I had gone to the Must Be Kismet Wedding Show we had a small idea of a vision we wanted. Our idea wasn’t clear and we kept jumping from thought to thought. What really helps is when you have a décor company that can understand your vision right from the start and grow with it.

I wanted a décor company that wasn’t just going to create for me a replica of a décor they have done in the past. I wanted something that works with our personalities and something that is fresh and innovative. What I loved about all the décor companies at Must Be Kismet is that they each set up their booths to showcase their personalities. I was able to meet so many vendors and see what vision I had in mind and with who this would align best.

I do suggest that all brides involve the groom in décor planning. I know most women naturally love the creative process and want to do it themselves but it’s important to have your fiancé’s personality also shine through in the wedding and what better way than in your wedding theme?

What to expect in your vendor visit for décor?

Do not just have one meeting and do not settle on anything in your first meeting. The initial meeting should be to look at inspirations, themes and previous work that the décor company has done. Let them inspire you with ideas and suggest how they would bring your theme to life.

Take the vision they create and sleep on it. You may wake up and want to add/change or modify something. That’s totally okay.  Can you envision the space they are creating? Do you feel good thinking about it?

On your next meeting you can set up a vision board. Have your décor person create a sketch of how the space will look. Make sure you tell them things that you absolutely want and certain aspects that you do not. Communication is key.

Starzz Design and Décor

I met the lovely team of Starzz Design & Décor at the Must Be Kismet Wedding Show. The moment I saw their booth I knew this was the right vendor for me. They had a modern twist with beautiful greenery and florals. I chatted with them there on my idea and within minutes we were in a full blown conversation of my theme and the unique ways to bring it to life. I knew then that this company would work for me.

I had 3 consults and what I enjoyed is the fact that I never felt rushed. They seemed excited to create this vision and would really stood out is they kept asking both me and my fiancé about our likes and dislikes. They wanted to ensure the décor symbolizes us both. After all, marriage is a coming together of two souls. From vision boards, to sketches, to inspirations and of course a whatsapp group. I am so excited for my wedding theme on my reception to come to life.

My Bridal Tip of the Week:

Do not worry if your theme is too common or something that you feel isn’t different. Every wedding is unique, and every theme is unique once it relates to the couple and who they are. Remember, the wedding is about you and him, not the world!

Until Next Time,
